The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

President al-Alimi receives European ambassadors

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, along with Member of the Council Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, received Tuesday the Head of the European Mission Gabriel Vinales and a number of EU ambassadors to Yemen.

The meeting touched upon latest developments in Yemen and regional and international efforts to end Houthi terrorist militia's coup against the state and realizing peace in the country.

Welcoming the European ambassadors to Yemen, al-Alimi informed them on the council and government's efforts on re-building state institutions and improving livelihoods with participation of all active components in managing the state during the transitional included in Power Transfer Declaration.

He praised efforts of Saudi Arbia and regional and international mediators for renewing the humanitarian truce and making it a foundation for realizing inclusive, permanent and just peace for all Yemeni people.

" The Presidential Leadership Council is still on its pledges it made in the oath speech in its first day as a council for peace but at the same time a council of determination and force to deter any aggressor," said President al-Alimi.

He confirmed that the militia has not been and will not be a project for admirable peace in Yemen.
