A coordination workshop was held in Marib Governorate between the local authority and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to enhance partnership and cooperation in the humanitarian field and to introduce international humanitarian law.
It was organized by the Red Cross office in the governorate in cooperation with the General Department for Development Research and Training in the governorate office.
At the opening of the workshop, Marib deputy governor Dr. Abd Rabbo Miftah, appreciated the humanitarian efforts and support provided by the Red Cross office in Marib in a number of sectors, stressing the governorate's need for all international organizations to double their humanitarian interventions, especially in the field of services and basic needs, to alleviate the burdens borne by the local authority offices with their limited capabilities, and the increasing challenges resulting from the economic decline and the repeated attacks of the Houthi militia on the governorate, which hosts more than 62 percent of the displaced people in Yemen.
