Minister of Water and Environment Tawfeeq al-Sharjabi has called for approving funding strategy to protect biodiversity to avoid failure of implementing the international strategy plan for biodiversity 2020-2021 and relevant UN Accord's objectives.
In the speech of the Republic of Yemen he delivered in the conference of the signatory parties of the UN Accord of Biodiversity are being held here, al-Sharjabi pointed out to difficulty of realizing any progress in implementing the accord without clear and transplant supplying mechanism accompanied by national funding strategy to implement it on local level to avoid keeping outcomes of the conference unimplemented.
He pointed out to significance of approving an international framework for biodiversity to the era after 2020 to contribute in stopping deterioration of the biodiversity, deterring climate changes, combating pollution and moving the wheal of the full implementation of the sustainable plan for 2030 forward.
The conference, which is presided over by China, will review international contributions to protect biodiversity and issues of supply, food security, people livelihoods, and capacity building of developing countries.
