The airport of al-Makha in Taiz governorate received today, Thursday, the first air flight.
A United Nations' plane landed at the airport to mark the start of the airport operations.
Meanwhile Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Brigadier Tariq Saleh laid down early today the foundation stone of the second phase of the work on building the airport's facilities.
The second phase of al-Makha airport project includes the construction of the travelers hall and the monitoring tower.
