The Chargé d'Affairs of the Yemeni Embassy in Nairobi, Abd al-Salam al-Awadi, handed the deputy director of the Protocol Department at the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs an official Yemeni statement regarding the Houthi militia's refusal to extend the truce.
Al-Awadi stressed that the Yemeni government has made all efforts to make the efforts of the United Nations envoy to Yemen to extend the truce a success, in order to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
Al-Awadi referred to the statement of the UN Security Council, which stressed that the maximalist demands of the Houthis impeded the efforts of the United Nations to mediate the renewal of the truce, praising Kenya's stances in support of Yemen through its membership in the UN Security Council.
