President al-Alimi receives American envoy to explore reviving peace process

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with the Council's member Othman Mujalli received today, Thursday, the United States' envoy to Yemen Timothy Lenderking and American Ambassador Steven Fagin within the course of the ongoing consultations aiming to rejuvenate the deadlock peace process in our country.

The session devoted to discuss the latest developments about the Yemeni situation and to explore prospects for renewing the humanitarian truce amid Iran-backed Houthi militia's intransigence.

The deliberations touched upon the required guarantees and pressures upon the militias to get them fulfill their obligations under the truce declaration and Stockholm Agreement about opening the passageways of Taiz and other governorates and paying the public service employees salaries in the militias' controlled regions from Hodeidah seaports' returns.

President al-Alimi confirmed the adherence of the Presidential Council and government to the comprehensive and sustainable peace option that based on the agreed on peace references. He affirmed support for the efforts have been made by the American and UN's envoys as well as all good offices to allay the Yemeni peoples' suffering.
