The French Ambassador to Yemen Jean-Marie Safa visited the Mukalla Museum in the Royal Palace and learned about the museum's holdings, the history of the ancient Kingdom of Hadhramaut, and the inscriptions and antiquities displayed in the various pavilions of the museum, which tells the history of Hadhramaut, which is rich in ancient civilizations.
The director of the branch of the Antiquities and Museums Authority in the coast of Hadhramaut, Riyad Bakremoom, explained the stages of rehabilitating the museum after the looting, sabotage and theft it was subjected to during Al-Qaeda’s control of the city of Mukalla in April 2015 AD, and the foreign achievements it achieved, the last of which was the Excellence Award in Museum and Cultural Guidance for the unique participation in the Arab Cultural Guide Program, which It was held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, and 16 countries participated in it, in addition to the museum's membership of the International Organization of Museums (ICOM) and the membership of the American Alliance of Museums.
