Governor of CBY discusses with private banks dealings with international banks

Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen Ahmad Ghaleb discussed Sunday with directors of private and Islamic banks results of communications with regional and international banks aiming for reactivating dealings between them and Yemeni banks.
The meeting touched upon efforts of regaining dealings between foreign and Yemeni banks to facilitate trade movement and payments between Yemen and its foreign trade partners including commitments of combating money laundering and financing terrorism.
The meeting also discussed latest developments of economic and financial conditions and improving them, in addition to discussing obstacles facing activities of commercial and Islamic banks and making necessary solutions to them.
Directors of commercial and Islamic banks confirmed their readiness to cooperate with the central bank and exert utmost efforts to provide data and supporting measures of the central bank for realizing stability, especially abiding by measures of combating money laundry and financing terrorism.
