Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen Ahmad Ghaleb discussed Tuesday with Executive Director of Arab Group at the World Bank Mirza Hassan and the accompanying delegation, who visits the Transitional Capital of Aden currently, cooperation in technical field, capacity building and promoting institutional work.
Governor Ghaleb confirmed significance of improving payment systems, control on banks and financial institutions and building institutions of combating money laundering and financing terrorism.
He pointed out to the bank's activities of inclusive financial evaluation in banking sector in Yemen and expanding the domain of this evaluation to cover all financial institutions, banks and concerned bodies.
The meeting, which included the Regional Director of the WB in Yemen Tania Mayer, Regional Director of International Finance Corporation in Yemen Yousof Habash and others, reviewed economic conditions in Yemen and their reflections on indicators of the collective economy in the light of international crisis and the role of the bank of alleviating effects of this crises on Yemeni people.
