Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women
The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. Moreover, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Salem Jaasous was appointed Minister of Local Administration, becoming the first woman to take on this ministry since the establishment of the republic.

Al-Bahssani directs increasing al-Mukalla Radio Station's broadcast, oil investments

Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Maj. General Faraj al-Bahssani has given directives to purchase two Radio Transmission Stations to develop al-Mukalla Radio broadcasting.

During his meeting today here in the temporary capital Aden with General Director of Technical and Engineering Affairs in Hadramout governorate Eng. Mohammed Ba-Yazid, he also ordered a detailed study about establishing Medium Wave Band Radio Station with total capacity 750 KWAT in the city of Asheher of Hadramout governorate.

The Deputy Chairman of the PLC also met today separately with the Minister of Oil and Minerals Abdussalam Ba-Abood and the General Director of Tax Authority in Hadramout governorate Mohammed Ba-Haidarah.

He urged Ba-Abood to explore further investments in oil and gas sector to increase oil production to improve the state general budget's revenues.

As he met with Ba-Haidrah he praised the significant efforts of the Tax Authority in the coastline of Hadramout to improve tax collection and returns.
