The Chief Executive of the General Maritime Affairs Authority Faheem Saif met Monday with the Regional Director of the International Support Foundation for the Nordic Countries Qasim Douali. FM updates his Norwegian counterparts on peace prospects in Yemen

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak met today with the Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt on the sideline of Munich Conference on Peace and Security.

They conferred on the latest political and military situations in Yemen and the stalemate of the peace process due to Houthi militia's intransigence and military escalations in several Yemeni governorates and recurrent attacks on neighboring countries.

Bin Mubarak blamed Houthi militia for insisting on fighting and refusing to sit-down to negotiate a political settlement, citing the militia's atrocities and violations against the civilians.

He highly appreciated the Norwegian substantial contribution to the humanitarian actions in Yemen.

The Norwegian foreign minister affirmed her country's continuous support for the UN-led peace efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.

She stated that the Norwegian government is willing to support the Yemeni government and to contribute to the humanitarian efforts.
