Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik confirmed government's support to efforts of the National Demining Program for cleaning Yemen from landmines planted intensively by Houthi militia.
In his meeting with Director of the National Demining Program General Amin al-Uqaili on Thursday, prime minister praised efforts and great sacrifices of the program in cooperation with the Saudi Program for Cleaning Yemen from Landmines (MASAM) for removing death seeds planted by Houthi militia in houses, neighborhoods, schools, mosques and public roads.
Al-Uqaili briefed prime minister on the ongoing work of the program in damaged areas by landmines planted by Houthi militia and accomplishments made by the program in cooperation with MASAM project and UNDP, making it clear that during the past two weeks 14 thousand landmines have been removed most of them from Shabwa and Marib.
Prime minister expressed aspirations for reginal and international support to promote activities of removing landmines and to exert pressure on Houthi militia to stop planting mines.
He confirmed government's support to the program's plan to remove landmines, praising support of Saudi brothers in field of removing landmines and other domains.
