U.S. Treasury Sanctions 21 Individuals, Entities for Involvement in Financing Houthi Militias
The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

FM discusses with Dutch ambassador latest developments in Yemen

Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ahmad Awadh bin Mubarak discussed Tuesday with Dutch Ambassador to Yemen Peter Derrek Hof mutual relations between the two countries, Dutch developmental interventions and latest developments in Yemen and the region.

Foreign minister expressed appreciations to Dutch contribution in humanitarian and developmental fields and its support to vital domains, pointing out to Houthi militia's escalation and destabilizing the region.

He also pointed out to increasing calls for designating Houthi militia a terrorist group for its terrorist acts and targeting civilians and committing war crimes.

He talked about efforts of tackling Safir Oil Tanker's issue and government's positive dealing with this file to make Yemen and the region away of humanitarian disaster to be caused by potential leak or explosion of the long-stranded tanker on the Red Sea water.

For his part, the Dutch diplomat expressed his country's continuous support to Yemen and efforts for realizing peace and regaining security and stability in Yemen.
