In a meeting today on the sidelines of his participation in the Mediterranean Dialogues Conference, hosted by the Italian capital, Rome, bin Mubarak briefed his counterpart on the developments in Yemen, noting the importance of knowing the political roots of the conflict to come up with a clear vision on the appropriate approaches to achieve a lasting, just and comprehensive peace.
Bin Mubarak touched on the efforts made by the Yemeni government to achieve peace in Yemen and restore security and stability.. He said that the Houthi militia met these efforts with more arrogance, intransigence and aggression against various regions in Yemen..
He stressed the importance of concerted efforts to solve the issue of the Safer oil tanker and spare Yemen a looming environmental and humanitarian catastrophe that could result from degredation of the long stranded tanker.
