Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik received Sunday UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen David Gressly, who informed prime minister on UN economic framework project in dealing with Yemen's food crisis and swift interventions in economic and humanitarian domains.

The meeting discussed humanitarian situation in Yemen after recent Houthi militia's military and criminal escalation in Marib and shelling civilians, displaced people and hospitals by ballistic rockets and drones, as well as banning food and medicines to civilians and increasing burdens over new waves of displacement.

The two parties discussed also Safir Oil Tanker Issue under Houthi militia's stubbornness and rejection access to UN technical team to examine the tanker, in addition to potential disastrous repercussions if the tanker explodes or sinks in the Red Sea water and UN continuous efforts in this regard.

Abdulmalik stressed that the way for dealing with humanitarian crisis is through tackling economic crisis and stopping deterioration of the Riyal, pointing out that there is swift need to implement general plan for economic stability and quick support from Yemen's partners and donors.

He demanded the UN and international community to increase humanitarian interventions to face increasingly needs of displaced people in Marib.

For his part, the UN official informed Prime Minister on increasing UN humanitarian interventions in Marib and relief to displaced people, confirming keenness on continuous partnership with the government and its institutions for implementing different projects and interventions.
