The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Al-Erada discusses with Mauritanian minister defense cooperation with Yemen

Yemen's Ambassador to Nouakchott Saleh al-Erada discussed Tuesday with Mauritanian Minister of National Defense Minister Hanena Ould Sidi enhancing defense cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador al-Erada reviewed latest developments in Yemen, pointing out to continuous violations committed by Iran-backed Houthi militia against Yemeni people and continuous siege on cities and villages and bombarding them with ballistic rockets and drones, killing civilians among them children and women.

He praised Mauritanian central role in supporting regional and Arab issues and its role in supporting the constitutional legitimacy and permanent support to Yemen's unity, security and stability, praising Mauritanian care of qualifying Yemeni officers and opening military training courses in Mauritanian educational institutions.

For his part, the Mauritanian minister renewed his country's position supporting Yemen's issue and support to internationally-recognized government, confirming continuous cooperation with Yemen in defense field.
