Gov't demands Houthi terror designation after terror strike on National Day commemorators
[26/09/2021 05:08]
HAJJAH-SABA
The local government in Hajja has demanded the international community to designate Yemen's Houthis as a terrorist organization after they killed and injured 34 commemorators of the 26 September Revolution Day in the north Yemen province on the eve of the national day.

The Houthi militia fired rockets a torch lighting ceremony on Saturday night killing 12 civilians and wounding 22 others mostly civilians.

"The Yemeni people's celebration of this great day enraged the putschist militia and therefore they resorted to (rocket) shelling it in a blatant defiance to all international humanitarian covenants that criminalize attacks on civilians," read a statement issued by the government.

The statement called the attack "a criminal and terrorist act"

The government demanded the international community and rights organizations to condemn this terrorist attack and demanded the "designation of the Houthis as a terrorist organization."
