Deputy Governor of Marib, Dr. Abd-Rabbu Miftah, and the UNICEF representative in Yemen Mr. Philippe Duamelle, and his accompanying team currently visiting the governorate have visited Kara Hospital in Marib and were briefed on the level of medical and health services provided to the IDPs and host community there.
The UNICEF team and the hospital officials discussed the humanitarian partnership between the hospital and the UN agency.
During the visit, Miftah and the UNICEF representative toured the hospital’s departments and listened to briefings from the hospital director general, Dr. Louay Suleiman, about the level of medical and health services provided by the hospital, as well as the hospital’s ongoing expansion work in infrastructure, services and departments.
Miftah and the UNICEF representative inspected the integrated primary care programs for mothers and children provided by the hospital with the support of UNICEF, including immunization, combating malnutrition and the needs of strengthening support for it.
