ADEN – SABA
The head of the Executive Unit for the Management of IDPs Camps, Najeeb Al-Saadi, discussed with the director of the UNHCR office in Aden, Joel Andersen, the conditions of the internally displaced Yemenis and ways to continue humanitarian aid for the IDPs in the country.
Al-Saadi stressed that the relief aid activity in Yemen faces great challenges, most important of which is the continued coup and war by the Houthi militia who forced the people to displacement out of their areas of control.
He said the scarcity of financial resources make addressing the displacement issue more difficult.
The meeting discussed the involvement of the government side in planning, identifying the needs and supporting the host communities by 15 to 20 % of the interventions and the need for increasing the percentage of support programs and projects.
