The Supreme National Emergency Committee on Coronavirus has discussed the health sector's plan to confront the third wave of the epidemic, and the steps taken to enhance the capabilities of isolation centers, and intensify precautionary and preventive measures, to limit the spread of the epidemic.

In a virtual meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik today, the committee took a number of decisions to strengthen the capabilities of the health sector to confront the new wave of the epidemic, including reactivating isolation centers and mechanisms of incentives payment to heathworkers, in addition to accelerating the procedures for completing the installation of some oxygen factories.

The meeting emphasized the importance of concerted official and societal efforts in continuing the preventive and medical precautions to limit the spread of the epidemic, and the importance of everyone sensing their personal precautionary responsibilities.

The Committee stressed the need to benefit from the past experience of confronting the first and second waves of the epidemic to help effectively limit the spread of the epidemic in its new wave.

The committee reviewed the existing coordination with donor countries and organizations to support Yemen in responding to the third wave of the epidemic, including providing the country with the necessary vaccines in accordance with the declared commitments, whether through the Kovacs initiative or the World Health Organization, the KSrelief, the United States and others, as well as supporting isolation centers and strengthening the capabilities of the health sector.
