Foreign Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak, met today with the Humanitarian Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Yemen William David Gressly.
They discussed issues related to the humanitarian situation in Yemen and areas of cooperation and coordination between the government and the United Nations in various humanitarian intervention areas, in addition to the results of the recent field visits of the resident coordinator to a number of Yemeni governorates.
The Minister appreciated the tangible activity of the resident coordinator to re-evaluate humanitarian interventions, activate relief work, and enhance cooperation and coordination with the government to fulfill the big needs arising from the humanitarian crisis, stressing the government’s keenness to facilitate the performance of various United Nations bodies and work with them in the relief and development fields, and to build the capacities of government's service providers.
