Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nizar Basuhaib discussed Thursday with Deputy Coordinator of Human Affairs in Yemen Diego Zuwella joint efforts and boosting cooperation to alleviate severe humanitarian suffering over the war in Yemen.
Attended by several deputies of planning minister, the meeting discussed coordination between the two parties and concerned bodies for implementing humanitarian projects and meeting urgent needs like shelter, food, water and medicines by affected people, especially displaced people in Marib's camps.
Basuhaib confirmed keenness and readiness of planning ministry to provide all forms of assistances and facilitations for easing difficulties faced by government's partners of international organizations for implementing their interventions and projects.
He stressed significance of doubling efforts by local organizations to twin their projects the government's plan for boosting development work.
For his part, the UN official confirmed boosting coordination and cooperation for facing the humanitarian crisis and working on providing humanitarian assistances to affected and needy people.
On the other hand, Deputy Planning Minister Basuhaib discussed with the technical committee tasked with implementing the Multi-Indicator Cluster Survey, which is organized by UNICEF in cooperation with the ministry of planning and the Central Organization for Audit and Control, the technical and administrative mechanisms of the survey and its objectives.
Basuhaib stressed importance of making use of previous surveys and experiments in this field.
