RIYADH - SABA
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has called on the parties to the Riyadh Agreement, the Southern Transitional Council and the government, to expedite the implementation of the deal to unify the Yemeni ranks to prepare for restoring the Yemeni state.
The Kingdom said in a statement, published by the Saudi Press Agency, it had brought the Yemeni government and the STC together to discuss implementing the rest of the provisions of the November 2019 deal and that the two parties have agreed to de-escalate tensions on the rhetorical , security, economic and social levels.
"The kingdom notes that the political and media escalation followed by political and military appointments by the STC breach what has been agreed upon by the two parties," said the statement.
The Kingdom noted that that the return of the government to Aden as per the deal is top importance. The Kingdom also renewed its support for the Yemeni government, of which the STC is a component.
