A Yemeni Public Health official said the Houthi militants have declined to receive a shipment of covid-19 vaccines to distribute it amongst the endangered people in their areas of control in north of the country.
Deputy Health Minister Ali Al-Walidi a told WHO-sponsored virtual meeting of Mediterranean health ministers that the Sana’a-based militia has refused to receive the vaccine shipment despite the danger the novel.
He said that the Houthi years long war has caused not insecurity and displacements but also the collapse of the country’s health system which expedite the proliferation of epidemics and diseases.
