RIYADH-SABA
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ahmad Awadh Bin Mubarak discussed Wednesday with Russian Ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Dudeshken latest developments in Yemen in the light of the Saudi initiative for ending the war and the Russian role for realizing peace in Yemen.
Bin Mubarak pointed out to significance of the Saudi initiative and opportunities it includes for realizing peace in Yemen and national reconciliation, hoping that Iranian negative positions towards the initiative and the provocative statements by Officer of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Hassan Irloo will not be an obstacle to Houthi militia to deal positively with the initiative.
He praised international positions welcoming the initiative as these positions reflect the international will for ending the war triggered by the militia and resulted in the worst humanitarian disaster.
For his part, the Russian diplomat expressed his country's welcome to the Saudi initiative, praising the position of the government of Yemen, which swiftly welcomed the initiative for realizing peace.
He confirmed Russian support to Yemen's unity and sovereignty and to efforts for reaching a political settlement to end the war and regaining security and stability.
