AlJAWF - SABA
Landmines laid by the Houthi militiamen killed and injured 20 civilians in the northern Yemen province of Aljaw in a single week, the local Committee on Rights and Freedoms has said.
In a statement, the Committee said the landmine which the militiamen planted in Alhazm and Khab Al-Shaaf, two provincial districts, “killed three civilians including a woman and injured 17 others among them 12 women.”
“Such human acts go against with all the international covenants and national norms and conventions,” read the statement. The statement demanded the international and regional rights organizations to pressure the Houthi militia into unearthing the landmines they planted across the country. It also called on the international agencies to bring the Houthi militia to international justice for these crimes.
