YWEF Documents 4,651 Houthi Violations Against Mosques and Religious Minorities
The Yemeni Women Empowerment Foundation (YWEF) has documented 4,651 crimes and violations committed by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia against mosques, religious figures and minorities across 14 provinces between January 2014 and August 21, 2026.

Taiz Local Authority, UN Delegation discuss humanitarian interventions for 2021

Taiz Local Authority headed by Deputy Governor Abdulqawi al-Mikhlafi discussed Monday with the UN Delegation headed by Director of United Nations' Office for Coordinating Humanitarian Affairs in Aden-Taiz Renie Begnhoes and the team of the UN Security and Safety headed by Edgardo Grasia humanitarian interventions in Taiz.

The meeting included other UN officials; Stephen Robinson and Hisham Hadi from the UNDP and local officials; deputy governors of Taiz and directors of executive offices.
Al-Mikhlafi confirmed that the province is experiencing severe humanitarian crisis over the Houthi militia's triggered war, Houthi siege and recently eruption of corona pandemic in addition to scarcity of local authority's resources, stressing significance of more humanitarian interventions for rescuing people from starvation.

He pointed out that the local authority has accomplished a plan for the humanitarian interventions needed by the province in 2021. The plan included in its priority; health, education, food security, sanitation and livelihood projects and capacity building.

For her part, the Head of the OCHA's office confirmed that the meeting will focus on the matrix of the future needs by Taiz and alleviating suffering of the people in the province as priority.

Deputy Governor, the Head of Relief Committee Rashad al-Akhali reviewed interventions needed by the city and districts of Taiz.

Meanwhile, the Director of Taiz Police General Mansour al-Akhali talked about security situations in the province and efforts exerted by security forces to overcome challenges and crimes, pointing out to accomplishments made by Taiz Police in cracking down on criminals and bringing them to justice.
