U.S. Treasury Sanctions 21 Individuals, Entities for Involvement in Financing Houthi Militias
The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

FAO's projects in Yemen discussed

Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik discussed Monday with the delegation of Food and Agricultural Organization headed by Emergency Officer Dominque Bergen cooperation between Yemen and the organization in agricultural and food fields.

The two parties also discussed implementation of response plan for combating desert locust in Yemen and the Horn of Africa.

The meeting tackled the projects of the organization is implementing in Yemen in cooperation with ministries of Agriculture and Irrigation and of Fishery Wealth and future plans helping in alleviating the intensity of the humanitarian crisis over Houthi militia's triggered war in 2014.

Abdulmalik expressed appreciation to the organization for its relief activities in Yemen, confirming strategic partnership between the government and the organization for defining priorities in agricultural and fishery sectors.

He stressed significance of swift interventions of the organization for avoiding economic effects could be resulted by the desert locust and providing necessary capabilities and training Yemeni cadre in this domain.

Th prime minister and the delegation reviewed a plan made by the government for combating locust for limiting the spread of it and protecting farmers' livelihoods.
