[06/10/2020 06:40]

RIYADH - SABA
Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad al-Hadhrami discussed Tuesday through visual communication with UK Minister for Middle East and North Africa's Affairs James Cleverly mutual relations between the two countries, efforts for realizing peace in Yemen and other common concern files.

Al-Hadhrami confirmed keenness of the government on realizing inclusive and permanent peace on the bases of the three agreed upon references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue conference and Security Council's Resolution 2216.

He denounced Houthi militia's military escalation in Duraihim District, Hodeida Province and violations of the ceasefire there as an attempt to cover their failure in Marib, Jawf and Baidha'a.

He condemned the militia's continuous hindrance of arrival of the UN team to Safir Oil Tanker, stressing taking serious measures by the Security Council for solving this issue.

He confirmed that Houthi militia uses Safir issue as deterring weapon and blackmailing political paper for pressing the government and the international community.

Al-Hadhrami pointed out also to importance of Socotra Archipelago Province to Yemeni people and significance of normalizing conditions in the province by ending the armed rebellion in the peaceful island.

For his part, Cleverly pointed out to significance of realizing peace in Yemen, expressing his country's support to UN envoy to Yemen.

He expressed concern over danger still posed by the tanker and necessity of solving this problem quickly.
