Leadership Council Avows To Take All Measures To Prevent Violations of Yemeni sovereignty

The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. The Council of Arab Ministers in charge of environment called for immediate practical measures to avoid a looming environmental catastrophe in the Red Sea in case that oil spill from Safer oil tanker.

By the end of an emergency meeting held virtually Monday Arab Ministers called on Arab countries, International Community (IC) and the UN's Special Envoy to Yemen to ramp-up pressures upon Houthi militia to allow the UN's technical team access the tanker, repair and unload oil before it is too late.

The Ministers called on the UN Environment Program and International Marine Organization (IMO) to keep on espousing the efforts of the Regional Commission for Perserving the Environment of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden through devising an emergency action-plan to deal with the negative impacts in case that oil spill of Safer oil tanker.
