The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Yemen, France discuss common concern issues

RIYADH - SABA
Minister of Information Mua'mar al-Iryani discussed Monday with France's Ambassador to Yemen Christian Testu a number of common concern issues and means of improving relations between the two countries.

Al-Iryani reviewed latest political developments in Yemen and peace process and obstacles created by Houthi militia for hindering UN and international efforts, pointing out to Houthi measures of including member of negotiation from government party Majed Fadhael within people who are prosecuted by Houthi court in this time while participating in UN-sponsored talks for exchanging prisoners and kidnapped people in Switzerland currently.

He informed the French diplomat on Houthi military escalations in different warfronts and crimes committed by the militia in Mrib and daily violations against citizens in their held-areas.

He confirmed government's seriousness and efforts for reaching permanent and inclusive peace in accordance with the three agreed upon references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.

He showed government's keenness on speeding up implementation of Riyadh Agreement and relocating all state's institutions in the transitional capital of Aden, clarifying that the government honored its commitments included in the mechanism of speeding up implementation of the agreement led by Presidential authorization to Ma'een Abdulmalik to form a new government and appointing new governor and security director to Aden.

He called upon the international community to support formation of the new government and boosting its role in the government held areas.

For his part, the French diplomat reaffirmed his country's support to the internationally-recognized government and support to UN efforts for realizing peace in Yemen.

He called all parties to be closer for the sake of dialogue and reaching a political solution ending the Yemeni crisis.
