The Yemeni Government has welcomed the United States Department of State's announcement about re-imposing the UN sanctions on Iran including weapons embargo in accordance to the resolution 2231 of 2015 over Iran's breached the nuclear agreement known as Joint Comprehensive Plan Action.
The Minister of Information in the caretaker government Muamer al-Iryani stated that the Iranian regime exploited the agreement to increase its hostile policy, export terrorism, violence and chaos with the aim of destabilizing the region's countries through establishing sectarian militias and supplying them with weapons including Houthi militia, Hezbollah".
He called for further measures, increasing pressures and restrictions that ban selling and exporting weapons to Iran which will end up in the hands of the terrorist and sectarian militias including Houthi militia that used such weapons to kill more of the Yemeni people and undermine the ongoing efforts to end the war and make peace in Yemen.
