RIYADH-SABA
Parliament Speaker Sultan al-Barakani discussed Sunday with French Ambassador to Yemen Christian Testu latest developments in Yemen, horizons of realizing peace and UN efforts in this domain.
In the meeting, which included Vice Parliament Speaker Mohammad al-Shaddadi and Member Sultan al-Utwani, the two parties discussed efforts for implementing Riyadh Agreement and joint economic interests between the two countries halted by Houthi militia war on Yemen.
Al-Barakani praised Saudi role for keenness on implementing the agreement, help in normalizing conditions in liberated provinces and providing all means for facing Houthi coup.
He confirmed that Houthi militia undermine all peace chances by committing continuous malicious crimes against Yemeni people and their current military escalation in Marib for implementing Iranian agenda, a matter requires swift firm position from the international community to stop this dangerous agenda.
He pointed out to Houthi militia's continuous rejection to allow to UN technical team to examine Safir Oil Tanker and draining its shipment to avoid imminent environmental catastrophe, calling France and the European Union to take clear position towards Houthi militia's position and practices.
For his part, the French diplomat expressed hope of stopping bloodshed in Marib and destruction left by using force, calling for stopping bloodshed of Yemeni people, resorting to peace choices and supporting UN envoy's efforts for reaching inclusive settlement.
