Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik has discussed with Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Anne Lindy latest developments in Yemen led by Houthi militia's rejection for all United Nations and international calls for peace.
In a telephone call he made on Tuesday, Abdulmalik reviewed eruption of corona virus pandemic and significance of international support to Yemen's health sector and doubling pressure on Houthi coupist militia to respond to international calls for unifying efforts for facing this endemic and to respond to UN Secretary General's call for ceasefire, which has bene responded by the government and Arab Coalition.
Continuous Houthi militia's violations and military escalation in different warfronts, especially in Hodeida and aftermaths on implementing Stockholm Agreement Houthi militia has not implemented since its signing on September 2018, as well as the militia's obstinacy for rejecting checking Safir Oil Tanker by UN team were also discussed.
Thanking the government of Sweden for supporting Yemeni people and their concern on Yemen's issue, Prime Minister praised mutual relations between the two countries and keenness on strengthening them.
He reconfirmed government's permanent position on realizing peace and responding to UN Secretary General's call for ceasefire, pointing to economic and humanitarian conditions and to fruitful results of Donor Conference for Yemen 2020.
For her part, the Swedish minister renewed her country's situation for supporting the government of Yemen and keenness on realizing peace and stability.
She praised efforts exerted by Yemen's government for dealing with crises and challenges, including corona pandemic, saying the world will help the Yemeni people in these conditions.
