ADEN - SABA
The Council of Ministers convened a session Monday via videoconference presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmaik.

The deliberations focused on the latest developments and events the national scene has seen recently.

The humanitarian and health situations mainly in the interim capital Aden were elaborately discussed.

The discussions explored possible measures that can be taken to allay the populations' suffering that has been largely exacerbated by the declaration of the so-called "self-administration" by the Southern Transitional Council (STC).

The Council of Ministers has launched an appeal to the UN's agencies, International Community (IC) and organizations for contributing to the government's efforts to counter the pandemics including coronavirus covid-19.

The Cabinet discussed the implications in Aden and Abyan due to the STC's practices, holding the STC accountable for undermining Riyadh Agreement and worsening the peoples' ordeal.

The Council of Ministers praised the statement of the UN envoy Martin Griffiths in which he recently briefed the UNSC about the situation in Yemen. It also applauded the International Security Council's statement in support of the implementation of Riyadh Agreement.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Chair of the High Emergency Committee Dr. Salim al-Khanbashi briefed the Cabinet about the government's ongoing measures and efforts to control coronavirus. He also cited the obstacles created by the STC in the interim capital Aden that make the situation a catastrophic.

The Cabinet touched upon the problem of the Yemeni national who have been trapped abroad and the action-plans designed to help them.
