Maritime Affairs Authority Discusses with European Nordic Support Foundation Enhancing Maritime Security

The Chief Executive of the General Maritime Affairs Authority Faheem Saif met Monday with the Regional Director of the International Support Foundation for the Nordic Countries Qasim Douali. Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik held discussions on Friday with the UN's Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Lise Grande and Representative of the WHO in Yemen Altaf Mosani.

The discussions which held via videoconference concentrated on the ongoing coordination between the Yemeni Government and the UN's agencies about the action-plans and the efforts to counter coronavirus pandemic.

The deliberations also touched upon the challenges and obstacles need to be addressed and the areas where support is urgently required.

The Prime Minister cited the pressing need for greater support for the government's programs and plans to cope with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dr. Ma'een called on the International Community to support the ongoing efforts aiming to control several pandemics in Aden and other regions.

For his part Mr. Griffiths reiterated that it is very important to reach to an inclusive cease-fire agreement in Yemen and achieving political stability.

Lise Grande stated that there are a package of medical aids will be provided in the coming period.

The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Najib al-Aweg contributed to the discussions.
