The local authority and all political stakeholders of Marib called the southern separatists' declaration of self-rule last Sunday was an escalatory move.

In a statement, the authority and political parties said they "reject any attempt to undermine the country's legitimate government headed by president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The Southern Transitional Council abandoned the Riyadh Agreement and declared self-rule and en emergency state in Aden which is under the militia's control.
