Marib Local Authority has received formal application from the United Nations Population Fund for opening a branch in the province for boosting partnership in humanitarian work with the local authority for quick response.

Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbu Miftah discussed Tuesday with a team from the fund headed by Humanitarian Response Officer Andrea Biradi humanitarian needs by the displaced people and hosting community in the province.

The meeting touched upon humanitarian partnership between the local authority and the fund for possible response and humanitarian increasing needs for the increasingly numbers of displaced people in Marib, which received recently 4500 displaced families from al-Khaneq Camp in Nihm District, Sana'a Province after targeted by Houthi militia.

Miftah confirmed that the local authority will provide all necessary facilitations to the fund and all other humanitarian organizations wanting to open offices in the province.
