The Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbu Miftah discussed with a team of investigators the outcome of their inspection tour in the governorate's jails. The team represents the Public Prosecutor's Office and the National Commission for Inquiry into human rights abuse claims.

The Deputy Governor affirmed the local authority's interest in the conditions of detention and in further improving the living and hygienic conditions of prisoners in all jails in line with humanitarian standards.

He cited the ongoing progress to build a central reformatory for women and subjecting those reformatories to the judicial authority to take direct charge of supervising them as part of the efforts to develop the infrastructure of detention facilities.
