Report: Oil production, export resumed, companies return

Ministry of Oil and Minerals reported that it has managed to resume oil production and export, subsequently some foreign oil firms come back to the country to operate.

An annual report by the ministry the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) familiar with stated that oil production and exports were resumed in S2 bloc in Shabwah governorate with total capacity 16 thousand barrel per day (bpd) in 2018. In 2019 oil production resumed in Malik 9 bloc in Shabwah.

According to the report oil production and export also resumed in 2019 in Marib governorate block (18) by Safer Oil Company with total capacity 20 thousand (bpd), 8 to 10 thousand barrels out of which are refined locally and the remaining quantity is exported.

Oil production and export also resumed in al-Massila oil fields in the governorate of Hadramout through Petromassilah Oil Company with 32 thousand (bpd), according to the report.

The ministry's annual report noted that the Austrian oil firm (OMV) and the Cyprus Calvary have already returned to the country and resume their oil businesses.
