Parliament Speaker Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani discussed with his Egyptian Counterpart here Dr. Ali Abdel Aal boosting mutual relations between the two countries in parliamentary field and coordinating joint positions in all international forums for serving the common interests.
In the meeting attended by Vice Egyptian Speaker Sulaiman Wahdan and members of Arab Affairs Committee and a number of Yemeni MPs, al-Barakani reviewed recent developments in Yemen.
He praised the Egyptian leadership's role in supporting Yemeni people in all fields, pointing to respect of Yemeni people to Egypt and its people.
Praising Egyptian people's past sacrifices for making September and October revolutions successful, he pointed to Houthi terrorist group's war against Yemeni people in the present time.
He praised Egypt and Arab Coalition's role for helping Yemen regain its legality and institutions.
I have to thank the people of Egypt, their leadership and brave President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his government for facilitations and generous hospitability to Yemenis, who were forced to leave their country, said al-Barakani, hoping more facilitation to Yemeni people.
He also welcomed Egypt's efforts in deterring terrorism in Egypt, pointing out that battles against terrorism and backwardness are common goal to the two countries.
For his part, Egyptian Speaker Abdel Aal welcomed Yemeni Speaker and MPs, confirming that Egypt and Yemen have been side by side in all common issues.
" If Arab Unity was necessary in the past, today it is more necessity, especially as the region is facing many plots and threats," said Abdel Aal, confirming provide support by Egyptian Parliament to Yemeni Parliament.
He pointed out that his supporting positions to Yemen in international forums and meetings stem from national and Arab conscience and is a duty coming from his believe in Arab Nationalism, confirming that he will save no effort for providing facilitations to Yemeni community and solving all problems facing them.
He also pointed to Egypt's firm positions supporting Yemen's legality and efforts for realizing peace and stability in Yemen.
He confirmed that Yemen's stability means Egypt's stability and the security of the Red Sea cannot be neglected.
He showed readiness to attend Yemen Parliament's sessions to be held in Aden soon in the future.
