Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Mohammed al-Madashi has stressed the imperative of intensified efforts to rebuild the country's armed forces.
Chairing a meeting of military leaders in the Defense Ministry here today, he said that the military institution should be empowered to safeguard the revolution, the republic and the national constants. "It (the military institution) is what we depend on to secure the security of Yemen and the region and to should the responsibility of countering the rebel and terrorist groups."
"The Yemeni people have become more aware of the plots and ill ambitions aiming at their sovereignty and unity," he said, "and won't allow the agendas of chaos and vandalism to proceed on."
He appreciated the Saudi-led Arab Coalition for offering support to Yemen as it seeks to restore its state and for bravely standing to the plots against the security of Yemen and the regio
