Yemen's Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadhrami has emphasized the need for an international pressure on the Houthis to keep their hands off of humanitarian aid supply and secure a safe passage of aid to the entitled in the areas under the insurgent militia's control.
In a meeting with the UN Humanitarian Coordinator Lisa Grande here today, al-Hadhrami said the UN should also have measures in place to verify Houthis are committed to this.
He said the government has been taking alleviating measure but encountering Houthi disruptions; the government has permitted 10 vessels laden with fuel to discharge their load in Houthi-held port of Hodeidah , but the rebels continue to prevent their offload unless the importer merchants pay customs duties to them.
