Yemen condemns Turkish military operations in northeast Syria

The Republic of Yemen condemned today the Turkish military operations in northeastern Syria and considered it a violation of the sovereignty and independence of the Syrian Arab Republic.

"These military operations violate the sovereignty and independence of the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic and threaten regional security and peace and violate international law," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement received by the official Saba news agency.

"This escalation undermines the peace efforts and hinders the political process between the Syrian parties and affects the Arab and international efforts in combating terrorist organizations," the statement added.

The Foreign Ministry affirmed Yemen's support to the emergency call for holding an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level on Saturday, October 12 at the headquarters of the Arab League's General Secretariat in Cairo
