RIYADH- SABA
Vice Foreign Minister Mohammed Al-Hadhrami received today a copy of the credentials of the new head of EU delegation to Yemen Hans Grundberg.

They discussed EU efforts in supporting the UN-led political process in Yemen and the latest developments on the local and regional arenas.

Al-Hadhrami praised the important support provided by the European Union to Yemen and to the legitimate government. He pointed out that his ministry will provide Grundberg with all facilities to enable him to perform his duties in developing the relations between Yemen and the European Union.

He pointed to the efforts of the Yemeni government to ensure the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement and the need for international community pressure on the Houthi militia to get them to honor their commitments under the deal.

He highlighted the consequences of the armed rebellion by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council supported by the UAE and the UAE air raids against the country's armed forces in Aden and Abyan last month.

For his part, Grundberg affirmed the EU's support for the legitimate government and its keenness to develop the distinguished relations between Yemen and the European Union, expressing his aspiration to see progress in the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement.
