Vice President Lt. Gen. Ali Mohsen Saleh has called on the people of Yemen to reject any attempts to deflect the national battle for restoring the Yemeni state from the Houthi militia.
He made the remarks in a phone conversation with the governor of Shabwa Mohammed bin Edeiw hours after the province celebrated the expulsion of armed separatist militiamen known as the Southern Transitional Council.
The Vice President called for promoting tolerance, fraternity and unity to prevent the dangers besetting Yemen on the top of which is the Iranian-backed Houthis. He hailed the sacrifices of the armed forces and the people of Shabwa in countering Houthis and other rebels and militias whatever their trends and directions might be.
He thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for supporting Yemen in different fields mainly in aiding the efforts to restore the Yemeni state to power and counter the Houthi coup.
