Planning Minister, USAID discuss projects' package

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Najeeb al-Awj discussed Sunday with the Regional Director of USAID in Yemen Mary Eliat coordination for holding regular meetings and evaluating the agency's projects in accordance with the government's plans.

Minister al-Awej praised the role played by the agency in Yemen via development projects and improving livelihoods, confirming that the government is about to establish one-window system for facilitating and speeding up government services provided to international and non-government organizations.

For her part, the regional director expressed pleasure for cooperation relations with the government and confirmed support to the government of Yemen through meeting its needs and financing livelihood projects and capacity building.

She made it clear that through support provided to Yemen, USD 15 million will be pledged for supporting health sector for three years and providing additional support to Yemen worth USD 35 million to be provided to education ministry for Reading Approach Project.

The two parties agreed on holding a meeting on September for defining government's priorities in line with the government's development and economic plan.
