Food and Agricultural Organization or FAO organized Tuesday a meeting in cooperation with Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation on setting up strategies and sustainable investment plans to food security project targeting small farmers and fishermen in Yemen.
The meeting aims also at coming out with suggestions help in implementing development programs across Yemen in the framework of plans of Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nizarba-Suhaib confirmed the significance of the meeting and exerted efforts for making projects and programs helping in making solutions to problems associated with food security in cooperation with concerned ministries and FAO according to indicators on most needy areas.
Ba-Suhaib renewed keenness of Ministry of Planning on providing facilitations needed for helping the organization for carrying out its duties as demanded in help for improving food security and boosting sustainable recovery in affected provinces.
For his part, Resident Representative of FAO in Yemen Hussein Gadain said the project aims at improving survival and nutrition capabilities on family level via providing sustainable production improvement s, reaching to markets, increasing income of farmers and fishermen and focus on managing agricultural lands, water and improving agricultural product and capabilities of national corporations.
For his part, the International Expert who sponsors the project's suggestions said the organization is keen on setting up suggestions and strategic plans for carrying out sustainable programs in the framework of small farmers and fishermen's project in Yemen.
