NY-SABA

Yemen's permanent representative to the UN Abdullah al-Saadi said "any political solution in Yemen not line with the three agreed upon terms of reference will only lead to prolonged crisis.

Addressing a seminar the American-Lebanese University in New York on Tuesday, al-Saadi was emphasizing the imperative of the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Security Council resolutions mainly resolution no. 2216 (2015) as the references that should guide any resolution of the years long conflict between the government and the armed Houthi militia.

Settlement apart from the references will "bury the Yemeni dreams of a fair democratic state and will stifle the Yemenis who reject the exclusive "divine right" of a certain sect to exercise absolute reign."
