The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Khanbashi demands UNFPA, int'l organizations to move from Houthi-held Sana'a to Aden

Deputy Premier Salem al-Khanbashi has called upon the United Nations Population Fund and other international organizations to move from the Houthi-held Sana'a to the temporary capital Aden.

Addressing a celebration of the World Population Day in Aden on Sunday, Khanbashi announced the relocation of the headquarters of the National Council for Population to Aden and the appointment of new secretary general and assistant secretary general for the council.

He said that the move of international organizations such as the UNFPA to Aden would bolster partnership between the government and these organizations.

He affirmed the government's support for the reproductive health sector and other health programs to reduce mortality rates among the mothers and newborn babies.

The deputy premier said there are tens of families displaced by the Houthi militia who are in dire need for primary health care.
